Digital Audience Development and Engagement Manager Job Description
The Digital Audience Development and Engagement Manager reports to the VP, Director of Digital with specific objectives to center on creating brand awareness, driving traffic, maximizing engagement, and consumer loyalty across digital platforms (site, social, and mobile), as well as to extend the reach of its network through content syndication, linking and partnership agreements, and digital marketing. Lastly, the person should have a strong understanding of SEO, SEM and CPC advertising and how it can be leveraged to grow an audience.
Responsibilities: • Build traffic driving relationships through strategic partnerships with online properties • Manage properties in Black Enterprise’s partnership network, and recruit new publishers • Coordinate social media strategy to drive more referrals and to increase presence on social media platforms (Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, YouTube, etc.) • Increase search engine referrals through content acquisition and link building relationships • Research, evaluate and present new audience building partnerships • Optimize on-site functionality to increase average pages per visit, participation via social media, registration, RSS and newsletter subscriptions • Create thoughtful CRM and email database approaches • Maximize user engagement (page views, comments, video, registration, etc) on site from all sources • Deepen the relationship with users by creating environments that foster dialogue, sharing and provide a richer experience • Optimize the registration process for all community sites • Develop Testing Plans, Implement New Strategies and Measure the Results • Pay-Per-Click: New Keyword Development and Testing, Monitor and analyze campaigns to meet revenue goals, Hands-on Bid Optimization and Ad Copy-Writing and Testing • Search Engine Optimization: Implement search engine optimization strategies, Competitive & Market Analysis and Perform Search Engine Ranking Reports
Skills: • Five or more years experience with a media company with responsibilities for audience development or business development • Demonstrated experience using social media, search engine optimization, search engine marketing and content partnerships to build audiences • Deep understanding of online metrics – proficient with web analytics platforms • Strong presentation skills – the ability to present, pitch, and close partnerships • Experience negotiating deal terms, drafting and editing legal agreements • Large Rolodex of website and blog contacts. • Expert with Microsoft office products • Bachelors Degree required
